Cody & Alaina

We are so grateful you are looking at our profile. Adoption has brought so much happiness and love into our lives since adopting our first child. Having been blessed by adoption, we have so more love to share and can't wait for the three of us to become four. Adoption is an important and difficult decision and we hope you consider us.

Our Leisure Time

Our Family Barn

We live on a farm and lately we've been driving a golf cart through the groves before sunset. It needed a little work, but it has been a hit with our nieces and our daughter who love to ride around and look at everything!

After we put our daughter to bed we enjoy watching a tv show or a new movie together and try to do date nights once a month.

Having Fun at Home

With our daughter we love taking her outside, having her play on her play set, push her in her push car, play with bubbles and watch our cats. Alaina enjoys reading and doing puzzles. Cody enjoys playing video games, reading, hunting and working on older cars.

We enjoy hanging out with our families and try to do weekly family dinners. It gives us time to catch one another up with our weeks, our daughter to play with her cousins, and for us to eat some great food.

Our Dreams for this Child

Us Three

Some dreams we have for this child is for them to live a happy, healthy and life filled with love and adventures. We hope to take our children to different parts of the country and the world as they get older and give them as many travel experiences as we can. We want our children to be surrounded by people who love them.

We work to have family dinners and spending time with cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and family friends as much as possible.

We want them to be happy and to grow up happy, being comfortable with who they are, proud of where they came from, their origin story and their life. We want them to be kind to others and to be certain of themselves and resolute. We want to help them grow and learn so that they can be as successful as they want to be, in whatever avenue they choose. We want them to know that we are always here if they need us and are their biggest cheerleaders.

Discussing Adoption

Happy Birthday, Margot!

We started our adoption journey with little experience or knowledge about adoption and a year ago we adopted our first child with the help of American Adoptions.

We are open and honest about adoption. We want both children to know about their adoptions, their birth families and anything that they might wonder about. We want them to have each other through life and to have that common thread of adoption between them so that, through whatever turns life may throw, they can lean on each other and relate to each other as they develop their identities.

We have multiple children's books on adoption that we read to our first child. We are always looking for new ways to find other ways to communicate adoption to our children as well. We talk about adoption with our friends and families and are open about our experience with them.

We know talking about adoption is a consistent conversation that we will have with our children as they grow into themselves.

Our Extended Families

Cody's Family

Both of our immediate families live within 15 minutes of us. We both feel so lucky to have the love and support from everyone and both of our families are excited for us to adopt again and add another baby to love.

Cody has three sisters and three brothers and Alaina has a brother and sister. We have multiple nieces and nephews and love the fact that this child will grow up with an older sibling and multiple cousins and grandparents to love them.

Alaina's Family

We know how fortunate we are to have the emotional and physical support from our "village" to help raise our children. Both sides of our families love getting together for dinner and movie nights and joining all together for birthdays and holidays.

Holidays are fun and busy days for us as we get to go to both of our families houses and celebrate with them. Our favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas and we work to make them special by decorating our house and celebrating with fun activities.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Pool

We are fortunate enough where both of our immediate families live within 15 minutes from us. We feel so lucky because our children also get to grown up with multiple cousins from both sides of our families. We see each side of our families at least once to hang out and catch up. We also have multiple close friends who have kids and its been so nice watching our children grow up together and play. We are lucky enough to live out in the country in California for our children to have lots of space to run around and a big backyard area to play on their play set and enjoy the sunshine. There is a swimming pool at our house, and both of our parents house where in the warmer months we can be outside together as a family and teach out children to swim. Maybe someone might not think "farm" when they think of California but we live in a small farming community and live on a citrus farm. There are orchards in all directions in our backyard.

Our Home

From Us to You

Hi,

Our names are Cody and Alaina and we have been married close to 12 years and have been together for 16 years. We met young and have grown together, supporting each other and working through life together. We feel lucky that we found one another and have built this beautiful life together.

We always wanted a family and after a couple years of trying to start one, we realized that there was another plan in store for us. We adopted our first daughter a year ago and becoming parents together has been our greatest blessing and the best adventure we have gone on. We want to continue that adventure so that the three of us can love another child.

We know your decision to chose adoption is a selfless one. It is a difficult decision that takes courage and we understand how much love you have for the child to make this decision. We will love this child and care for them completely. We want to give this child a childhood filled with happiness, love, adventures and as many wonderful experiences as we can. We want this child to grow up knowing they are so loved by their birth parents and their adoptive parents. We know how lucky we are to be surrounded by family and for our child to grow up near both sides of our families is one of the greatest gifts. We will protect this child and encourage them to become the best version of themselves. Our dream is to watch our children grow into the best of friends surrounded by our families and them knowing they are our top priority in life.

We are open to exchanging emails, pictures, text messages and can always discuss with you if there are other forms of communication you would like to explore. We know that communication and contact will change over time but we want to be here for what we are all comfortable with.

When we adopted our daughter we always said that life was leading her to us when the time was right. We didn't know when or how or anything, but we had faith in the beauty of the world and we feel the same way now. The moment we saw her it all made sense, fully understanding how much love we had within us the moment we saw her and we know that we still have so much love to give and our families have so much love to give. The years of waiting and hoping all cleared away once we saw her face. And now, we don't know how or when, but we can't wait to meet our next child, wherever they are right now.

We hope you're doing okay and we understand what an important decision you're making and our heart goes out to you.

In choosing us we hope you know that this child will be loved, taken care of and know the story of how they came into our lives and know how much you loved them to chose adoption for them.
