To us, being parents means providing a child with unconditional love, stability, and a place where they always feel safe, valued, and supported. Parenting is not just meeting physical needs, it is guiding a child as they grow, helping them discover who they are, and being a steady source of encouragement through every stage of life. What we look forward to the most when we become parents is being part of a child’s everyday world, celebrating their milestones, teaching them new things, creating family traditions, and watching them develop their own personality, interests, and confidence. We look forward to being the people they trust, the ones they can come to with anything, and the home they know they belong in no matter what.

Traditions in our family are highly valued and cherished. We come together each year for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and other holidays. From Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve to cookouts and pool parties on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day. We feel it’s important to have these traditions continue year after year, even though our family and friends see each other all throughout the year, it’s something we look forward to. A time to relax, share memories, laugh, eat together and celebrate things that have happened throughout the year. Even if we cannot all be together for birthdays, we still make sure to call or text each other to say happy birthday.

We are loyal to our family and friends, and we value the kindness we show each other and the people around us. We admire that we are both hardworking individuals who have received an education beyond high school and have been working since we were 15 years old. We respect each other’s passions and differences, and we lean on each other when one of us is not at our strongest. No matter what, we know we can depend on one another to pick up the slack wherever it may be needed. We can laugh together and poke fun at each other, knowing it always comes from a place of love.

We were both born and raised here in Tennessee. Our neighbors and neighborhood are very accepting and truly care about the people who live here. All of our direct neighbors either came to our wedding reception or sent a gift, and we are often invited to functions at our neighbors’ homes. We live in a two story home with an attached two car garage, three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms also consisting of a kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, and a bonus/gaming entertainment room that sits on over an acre of land.

We have a fenced-in backyard with an in-ground pool that is safely locked and secured. Our home has a beautiful view, overlooking the city we live in. Our home resides on the edge of town and we’re only five minutes from many grocery stores, shopping centers and restaurants. There are six to eight schools within our city consisting of public and private schools.

Our families live as close as 10 minutes away and as far as 45 minutes away. Needless to say, we are always surrounded by family and friends. We are always getting together for holidays and making time for cookouts and pool parties during the summer. There are times that when we’re working from home, we’ll look out our window and see one our family members or friends floating around in our pool. It makes us happy knowing they feel welcomed in our home at any time.

Josh does most of the cooking in our home and was taught many recipes and cooking methods by his grandmothers. Seeing our family and friends’ faces light up when they dig into one of Josh’s dishes is the best compliment, sometimes shown with just a “Mmmm” or a smile. Our families are so supportive of us and are excited to see us become parents.

We want to thank you for taking a moment to read our letter. We can only imagine how many thoughts, emotions, and decisions you are carrying right now. We hope you know that we see your strength, your courage, and your love for this child in every step you are taking. We believe that choosing adoption is one of the most selfless decisions a person can make. No matter what path you choose, we deeply respect you and the care you are showing for this little baby. If you decide to learn more about us, we hope this letter gives you a sense of who we are and the life we hope to offer a child.

We have known each other over half our lives, 20+ years. After meeting in college, life led us back to each other in 2019 where we started building a life together, with the hopes and dreams of one day soon adding to our family, by having little children of our own to raise together. We have built a stable life together, supported by ALL our family and friends. Family means everything to us. Our home is filled with love, laughter, and a strong sense of togetherness. We value kindness, honesty, and showing up for one another in both big moments and everyday life. We imagine a childhood full of bedtime stories, family dinners, traditions, and the comfort of always knowing you are safe, loved, and supported.

Becoming parents has been something we have dreamed about for a long time. It has deepened our appreciation for what it truly means to be a family and we are ready to pour that love into a child with our whole hearts. We want you to know that this child will always know how deeply loved they are. Our hope is to raise a child who is compassionate, confident, and secure in who they are. We promise to celebrate their milestones, support their dreams, and be their biggest supporters through every stage of life. We will teach them the importance of kindness, resilience, and gratitude.

We also believe strongly in teaching important values such as empathy, respect, and perseverance. We want our child to grow up understanding the importance of treating others with kindness, working hard, and appreciating both the big moments and the quiet ones. We promise to provide a childhood filled with love, guidance, and opportunities to grow into a compassionate and confident person.
