Mitchell & Sarah
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us! We're truly honored that you're considering us as part of your journey. Our home is full of love, laughter, and a bit of quirky fun, and we're so excited to grow our family through adoption. We can't wait to welcome a little one into our lives and hearts.
Our Family Traditions

We have family that is very close and some that is farther away, but we stay in close touch. We travel often to visit family on the East Coast and in Florida, often turning those trips into mini vacations. Cape Cod, where many childhood summers were spent and where Sarah’s mom now lives, remains a special gathering place for beach days, fresh seafood, and summer baseball games.
We also have developed small traditions around shared hobbies, for example we trade jigsaw puzzles with Sarah’s father through the mail.
While we come from different backgrounds, we are looking to raising our child in the Jewish tradition. We observe Shabbat most Friday nights with candle lighting, homemade challah bread, and time together at the table, and we look forward to sharing major holidays and these weekly rituals with our child. With family we have close by in Colorado, we are also building on traditions such as “latke-thon” - a marathon afternoon of making hundreds of latkes as a family to share through Hanukkah and the year to come.
Our Leisure Time

In our spare time, we enjoy a mix of quiet, at-home hobbies and getting out to enjoy the great Colorado outdoors. On any given weekend, you might find us reading, puzzling, watching movies in our movie room, baking, or unwinding with a game of Magic: The Gathering or World of Warcraft. We both love being active outdoors and regularly run, hike, play pickleball, shoot archery, and take our dog, Archie, to the dog park. Time outside together is one of our favorite ways to reset.
Travel is another important part of our lives. We take regular trips to visit family across the country and enjoy exploring new places together, both in the U.S. and abroad. Music, books, and curiosity about space and science are always part of our everyday life, and we look forward to sharing all of these interests with our future child.
We both played all kinds of sports growing up, and can't wait to hit the field as a family.
Qualities We Love in Each Other

One of the most fun and unique things about our relationships, is how our differences truly strengthen our partnership. Sarah has a patience, compassion, and steady kindness that she is able to carry through all her relationships and responsibilities. Her ability to listen, to stay grounded, and to lead with empathy has shaped the way we support each other and face challenges together. Mitchell brings a thoughtful, problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and an energetic drive that provides a near perfect balance. He approaches life with a clever, analytical perspective and has a natural gift for teaching, building, and exploring new ideas and hobbies.
Together, we have learned how to be both supportive and independent. Living through COVID in a small apartment with a large dog showed us how well we communicate, adapt, and lean on each other in stressful times. We admire how we have helped one another grow into more confident, balanced versions of ourselves. We also respect each other’s individuality and believe that maintaining our own interests, friendships, and creativity makes us stronger partners and, eventually, better parents.

Our Extended Families

Both our extended families live on the East Coast with the exception of Mitchell's sister who lives only 30 mins away. But we get plenty of opportunities to visit them. Mitchell's mother just turned 65, for which we coordinated a big pickle-themed surprise party near where she lives in upstate New York.
We also enjoy traveling to Boston, Cape Cod, Washington DC, and Florida to see all our other extended family.

Spending time with our extended families can mean anything from meeting at food festivals, to backyard BBQs, to puzzles, to cooking together. Sarah's family has a long tradition of playing Pinochle when we have a proper foursome. On Christmas Eve we'll do a family fondue dinner and read "T'was The Night Before Christmas" with the whole family on Facetime. Every year for Hanukkah, Mitchell's family hosts "Latke-thon," where we spend hours making mounds of latkes to last the entire year. In the summers, we also try to squeeze in lobster dinners on the beach.
Overall, our families are very excited and supportive of our adoption plan. They're thrilled to welcome another little one into all our traditions.
Our House and Neighborhood

We live in the Denver suburbs on the Front Range of Colorado. We have been in our current split-level, 4-bedroom house for 3 years now. Our home comes with plenty of outdoor space and a deck where you can just see the mountains.
Working on our yard has become a fun, continually evolving project as we look to make it both child- and pollinator-friendly. We've spent quite a bit of time building out our downstairs space into a movie room with surround sound, movie posters, and a deep couch perfect for settling in for a good movie.
Our community is full of diverse families with kids of varying ages. Down the street is a recreation center which includes a pool, children's playground, and educational classes. They also host monthly family events that we would love to go to with our growing family. This includes Easter egg hunts, summer movie nights, and art fairs. We are also surrounded by bird conservation areas and open spaces. Down the street is a large, 500 acre park perfect for walking the dog and enjoying nature.
From Us to You

We want to start by saying thank you. We can only imagine the weight of the decision you are making and the love that guides you. We are deeply honored that you are taking a moment to get to know us. While we may not know your story yet, please know that we already have so much respect for your courage and the path you are walking.
We have been together for 8 years, married for 2 years and from the very beginning, we knew we wanted to build a family through adoption. We live in Colorado, in a home filled with laughter, dog cuddles, and the smell of fresh baked lasagna. We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood surrounded by trails, parks, and other young families. There’s a recreation center down the street with a playground, art classes, and regular community events. Sarah is nurturing and adventurous - an avid reader, who equally enjoys gardening and staying active with hiking and pickleball. Mitchell is the highly-intelligent, critical thinker who enjoys problem solving, building things by hand, and exploring new recipes. Together, we balance each other out, but we share one core value: putting family first.
We both work in the aerospace industry, and share a love of space and science fiction. Sarah works in marketing while Mitchell works in sales. We both followed our passions into the workplace, making sure we found fulfillment personally and professionally. If you choose us, your child will be raised in a world full of curiosity and opportunity to learn and grow. Our parents are excited to expand on their roles as grandparents, ready to join us at a moment’s notice, and our siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews are ready to welcome the newest family member. We envision a childhood filled with trips to science museums, Saturday morning cartoons, hikes, baseball, and many many dog park trips.
Education and curiosity are extremely important to us. We want to raise a child who feels safe to learn and explore to their heart’s extent, whether that’s sports, art, computers, or something completely different. But we also want to be sure they have a solid foundation in reading, math, history, and science. Your child will have our financial and emotional support to travel and explore diverse hobbies, but with enough direction so as not to feel lost. We are a multi-faith household, but we plan to raise the child in the Jewish faith to share in the rich culture and traditions that bind the community together. We celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah, but we’re looking forward to future bar or bat mitzvahs, baking homemade challah bread, and helping Bubby with her brisket. We are excited about the opportunity to love, support, and raise a child, to celebrate who they are, their heritage, our traditions, and to help them grow into their own unique person. Adoption is the right path for our family because it reflects how we approach life: with openness, humility, and a deep belief that family is defined by love, care, and commitment.
We want to be clear about the promises we make to you: Unconditional Love: We promise to provide a home where your child feels safe, seen, and supported every single day. Honesty and Honor: Your child will always know their adoption story. We will speak of you with nothing but love and respect, ensuring they understand the selfless choice you made out of love for them. A Bright Future: We are committed to providing every opportunity -educationally, emotionally, and socially to ensure they have every opportunity to discover and pursue what fulfills them. Regarding the future, we are open to exchanging letters and photos, and look forward to discussing what level of openness feels right and healthy for you.
Thank you for reading our words and looking at our photos. We know you have a difficult choice ahead of you, and we truly wish you peace and clarity as you make it. Regardless of whether you choose us, we are rooting for you and your baby.
