Eddie & Amanda
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We are Eddie and Amanda and would be honored to be considered as parents for your child. We cannot begin to imagine the emotions you are feeling and admire your courage for considering open adoption. Our greatest hope is to share our lives and love with a child, and we are excited about the possiblity of building a relationship with you.
Why We Chose Adoption

We are excited to become parents through open adoption as we cannot have biological children and do not have any children presently. We went through fertility treatments that were not successful; however, we still have a strong desire to be parents and wish to share our love as a couple with a child. We look forward to providing a stable, nuturing life to a child and involving important aspects and relationships from the child's birth family as we raise the child. Our friends and family are supportive of our decision to pursue adoption and will be a strong source of support for the child as they grow. We look forward to expanding our family through adoption and including the child's birth family and culture / traditions in the child's life moving forward. We have chosen adoption with hopeful hearts and are grateful for the opportunity to be considered as a family for your child.
Education We will Provide

Education and ongoing personal growth has been an important part of our lives. We believe early education is especially important and will provide the child with opportunities to interact with other children through library story times, baby gyms and preschool outside the home. As the child grows, they will have access to high quality schools in our neighborhood and we will provide extra activities based on their interests, such as organized sports, art or music lessons, science / technology and group activities. We also enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, so will include the child in those activities, including giving them opportunities to help plan the activities or prepare for them. In addition, we travel regularly and take in the area's educational opportunities, such as museums, historical places and live artistic events. We would plan to incorporate the child's culture when planning travel / experiences. If the child wishes to pursue higher education, we would provide support in the planning and financing of the college or trade school of their choice.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other
We are fortunate to have a strong and loving marriage and will be celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary this year. Eddie admires that Amanda is caring, smart and has a good sense of humor. We make sure to spend quality time with each other on a weekly basis and plan new / fun things to do together, such as taking in a comedy show.
Amanda admires Eddie for his kindness, handyness (he can fix almost anything) and sense of adventure. We enjoy taking our pop-up camper around to campsites in our local state parks and plan 1 larger trip each year to a new destination. Highlights of those trips, include Boston, San Francisco, Florida gulf coast, and Mexico. We have built a life we are proud of and have strengthened our bond through mutual goals and projects, including remodeling our house together and hearing each other out about important life decisions.

Our Extended Families

We have a multi-generational household as Amanda's Mom, Lisa, lives with us full-time along with our friendly, small Scottie dog named Leela. Amanda's sister's family lives nearby about 45 minutes away from us and we often spend time cooking at each other's houses and enjoy going to brunch together on the weekends. Eddie is very close to his Dad (also named Eddie) who lives in Tulsa, OK and was born on his Dad's birthday. Eddie's Mom passed away 5 years ago & this brought Eddie and his Dad even closer as he is an only child.

Eddie has a large extended family in Oklahoma and we look forward to our visits to the area to catch-up with Eddie's numerous cousins and their families. Amanda's Dad and extended family live in Western Nebraska. We make a trip out to see Amanda's family most every summer around her small town's summer festival and her family often comes to our side of the state to attend college football games. We like to decorate for and celebrate holidays as a family, especially Halloween and Christmas. Our neighbors like to tease us about the extent of our holiday decorations. We look forward to sharing our loving and caring family with your child - our extended families and community are excited about welcoming a child.
Our House and Neighborhood

We live in a suburb of Omaha, Nebraska called La Vista which holds many community events / activities for families, including outdoor summer movie nights, holiday markets and school events. Our neighborhood has many children who ride bikes together and enjoy several parks with trails. We live near the neighborhood's splash pad and playground as well as the elementary school. Our house is a ranch style with 5 bedrooms, an open living room / kitchen and a lower level with a family room / movie room and kitchenette. Amanda's Mom has her own private bedroom and bathroom in the lower level. We enjoy gathering in the lower level to watch sports and movies together. We have a large fenced yard that backs up to a line of trees without backyard neighbors and has a playset with swings and a slide that our friends' children use to play. We look forward to sharing our home and neighborhood with your child.
From Us to You

Dear Expectant Parents,
Hello from Amanda and Eddie, we have been married for 15 years and together for nearly 20 years. We have a loving and supportive relationship, helping each other through career growth and remodeling two houses together. We met online in 2007 when that was still new and quickly fell in love. Our early dating included affordable dinners and watching live music. We share our home with Amanda’s mom who is in good health and looks forward to being an adoptive grandparent along with our Scottish terrier, Leela. Both of us work in technology, with Amanda working from home with a flexible schedule and Eddie going into a nearby office.
We have grown together over the years and our home is the hub for our extended family for holidays and special occasions. We are known for our love of hosting and decorating during Halloween and Christmas with the neighborhood kids looking forward to our light displays. Our home has plenty of space for a growing family with a large backyard and playset and our neighborhood has schools, playgrounds and a splash pad within walking distance. We look forward to taking children on evening walks through the wooded parks near us.
In our spare time, we enjoy planning trips together, from short day trips in our local area to weekends out with our pop-up camper checking out new campsites. We try to plan one trip per year to a new warm destination as a break from the chilly Nebraska winters, which has included trips to California, Florida, Mexico and the Caribbean. We also regularly make trips to Tulsa, OK and Mesa, AZ to see extended family.
We have wished for children since early in our marriage and went through various medical treatments but were unable to have biological children. We are excited to grow our family through adoption and are ready to share the love and laughter in our home with a child. We will work together as a team as parents to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the child to grow and develop. Our local area has many kid-friendly activities we are excited to experience with a child: such as, a wonderful zoo called the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium which has interactive exhibits and touch tanks, a newly renovated downtown greenspace and river walk, a children’s museum and kid-oriented science museum to name a few.
We appreciate the strength and courage it takes to be reading these words and hope this letter gives you a sense of who we are as a couple. It is important to us the child knows their story and that this decision was made out of love and hope for their future. We will send letters and pictures so you receive regular updates and are also open to additional ways to stay connected as you feel comfortable, such as phone calls and planned visits. We believe regular communication will be beneficial for both the child as they grow up and for us as parents.
Thank you,
Eddie & Amanda
