Adam & Katey
Thank you for taking the time to view our profile! We know you are in the process of making an important decision for your child, and we want you to know our hearts are with you throughout this journey. Being parents has been one of the greatest blessings of our lives, and we look forward to welcoming another child into our family. We are grateful that you're considering getting to know us a little better!
Why We Chose Adoption

Our path to growing our family hasn’t looked the way we expected. After years of infertility, we received the most joyful surprise of our lives when we found out we were expecting our daughter Karalie. Adoption was something we had always been open to and had been praying about for years. After we experienced additional infertility and grieved a pregnancy loss, we decided together that we are ready to grow our family again, and that adoption is the right path for us. Adoption is already a meaningful part of our family’s story. While we were dating, Katey's family adopted her younger sister from China, and watching her become an inseparable part of the family showed us firsthand that love, not biology, is what makes a family. We are grateful for the ways God has prepared our hearts for this next chapter.
We are excited to welcome another child for exactly who they are, celebrating their unique personality, honoring their story, and surrounding them with a family who already loves them so very much. Our hope is that our children will always know they are deeply loved and cherished, and we look forward to helping them discover their gifts, pursue their interests, and become the person God created them to be.
Our Leisure Time

We love spending time together with our little family or gathering with our extended family and friends. Adam's favorite hobbies include gaming (video games, tabletop games, or board games) and tinkering in his workshop. He has become quite skilled in woodworking, metalworking, and leatherworking, to name a few activities. Katey also enjoys a bit of gaming, but she mostly loves reading, decorating, watching TV, and listening to music. These days, you’ll often find her reading a novel while waiting for dance or piano lessons, or trying a new baking project at home. We’ve tackled many home projects together over the years, from installing flooring and a kitchen backsplash to building or refinishing furniture, and creating new garden beds. We also enjoy reading together and sharing our favorite books with each other. One of our favorite parts of being parents is introducing our daughter to the books, movies, games, and traditions we loved growing up, and we can’t wait to share those moments with another child.
Pepper & Honey

Throughout our entire marriage, pets have always been a big part of our home. In addition to having an adorable furry friend, we think pets are such a special way to teach children about responsibility, kindness, and gentleness. After losing our beloved cocker spaniel to cancer, we decided to try something different, and we added a bunny rabbit to our household! We now have two Holland Lop bunnies, named Pepper and Honey, and we absolutely love them! Pepper and Honey love to explore our home (supervised of course!), hop in our laps, and nibble on some yummy lettuce. They have undoubtedly chosen our daughter as their favorite person, and they are precious together. We love watching them interact, and seeing how helping to care for Pepper and Honey is also helping Karalie grow into a more mature, responsible kid. Having bunnies is different from the dogs and cats we grew up with, but it is so rewarding in so many ways!

Our House and Neighborhood

We live on 2 acres in a smaller community located outside of a big city in Alabama. We love that we get to experience the best of both worlds—outdoor space and country living, as well as all the opportunities the city has to offer.

We have a 4-bedroom house with a large, fenced backyard, and a huge driveway that is perfect for riding bikes. Katey designed the floorplan herself, and a few years ago, we were able to work with a builder to make that dream a reality. Adam loves his workshop, where he enjoys working on his many fun projects.
Our neighbors are wonderful, and we only live 10 minutes from Katey's parents! We have lots of friends and family nearby, and we attend a wonderful church with amazing people and a great kids program.
Our favorite things about the community we live in are the emphasis placed on learning and innovation and the many family-friendly opportunities and activities available to us here, from dance class to space camp!
Our Extended Families

We are both blessed with large extended families, many of whom live nearby. We are so thankful that any child who joins our family will grow up surrounded by amazing grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Katey's parents and much of her family live nearby, and we love to get together with them regularly to celebrate holidays, graduations, birthdays, etc., or just to swim in Naenae and Baba's pool! One of our favorite traditions is to pick out matching pajamas for the grandkids to wear together on Christmas Eve. Most of Katey's extended family members live within a few hours from here. Adam's parents live a short drive away, and they often join Katey's family for holidays and events. The rest of his siblings and cousins are spread out all over the country, but we like to get together for big family trips whenever possible, like at the beach or the mountains, and we stay in close touch through phone calls and video chats. Our families have been incredibly supportive of our adoption hopes, and they are so excited to welcome another child into the family!

From Us to You

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We know that you’re making an incredibly important decision for your child, and we’re grateful that you’ve taken the time to get to know our family. Above all else, we are praying for you and your precious baby, that you'll have wisdom, peace, and the support you need as you make the decision that’s right for you.
We met in 2010 and married the following year after a long-distance relationship. Even though we grew up on opposite sides of the country, we believe we were meant for each other. Choosing our relationship was not the "easy" path, especially at first, but it was the right one for us, and it has been so worth it. Like many families, our path to growing our family hasn’t unfolded the way we imagined it would. We've had our share of heartache along the way, dealing with infertility and pregnancy loss, but we’ve also experienced a lot of joy, from the wonderful surprise of welcoming Karalie to the support our families have shown as we shared our adoption plans.
Adoption has been on our hearts for a long time, and we believe God has led us to this path at the right time for our family. We are blessed with an amazing support system, including friends, a wonderful church community that we love, and our incredible families. Our families are so thrilled to welcome our future child with wide open arms and so much love, and because adoption is already a meaningful part of our family’s story, they also understand both the joys and the challenges that can come with it. Our jobs give us the flexibility to spend plenty of time focusing on our family, and our home is full of laughter, games, stories, and everyday traditions. We can't wait to welcome another child into all of it! Our daughter Karalie is a kind, creative, and thoughtful little girl who loves caring for others. We know that she will be the best big sister a child could ask for, and she already has big plans for all of the books she’ll read, games she’ll play, and adventures she’ll share with her future sibling.
Please know that if you choose our family for your child, we will dedicate our lives to loving and caring for that child, and to being the best parents we can be. We are beyond honored that you might even consider us as potential parents for your baby. We promise to send you updates throughout the child's life, including pictures and letters, and we will keep in contact through phone or video calls and email, if you're comfortable with that. Should you choose our family, your child will grow up knowing they are deeply loved, knowing their story, understanding your important role in it, and knowing how grateful we will always be for the trust you placed in us. We will always speak about you with kindness and respect. Thank you again for taking the time to get to know us a little better. We wish you all the best.
Sincerely,Adam & Katey
