Ethan & Kim
We admire your courage in considering adoption and are grateful for the opportunity to share a bit about ourselves. We are a loving couple with a five-year-old daughter. We still have so much love to give, but have struggled with infertility. Adoption is very special to us as we both have dear family members who were adopted. We would be honored to offer your child a life filled with unconditional love, acceptance, support, and adventure.
Cultural Diversity

In our home, cultural diversity is something we deeply embrace and celebrate. We've spent a lot of time discussing how we can best support and honor our adopted child's heritage. We are both open-minded individuals who are eager to learn about new cultures and share that excitement with our child.
One way we plan to address cultural diversity is by introducing books that reflect our child's race, culture and heritage. Reading these stories together will not only provide valuable learning opportunities but also help our child feel connected to their roots. Additionally, we would be committed to traveling to our child's country or place of origin, if applicable, ensuring they can experience their culture first-hand.
We also plan to implement traditions that are important to our child's racial or cultural heritage, creating a meaningful space where those practices are celebrated in our home. For example, Kim has three cousins who were adopted, and all were intercultural adoptions. We have integrated traditions, holidays, meals, and other aspects of their cultural heritage into our family traditions, including celebrating Dia de Los Reyes, las Posadas, and Dia de Los Muertos.
We recognize the importance of open communication and will make sure our child always feels safe and supported when discussing their culture, race, identity, and any questions they may have. For us, raising an adopted child means honoring both their heritage and the rich diversity that makes them unique.
Our Lifestyle

Here is a peek into "a day in the life" of our family! During the week, our routine includes school (and work for the grown-ups!), gymnastics, and piano lessons, but we ALWAYS make time for fun. After school, we head outside for some playtime or a board game, and we never skip our nightly family dinners. From fondue night to build your own cheeseburger, we love making everyday moments special! During dinner, we take turns sharing the highs and lows of our day, then wind down the evening with a bedtime story and prayers.
Saturdays are for soccer games, house projects, and quality family time—whether it's a cozy dinner with extended family or an adventure riding bikes along the river or hiking in the mountains. Sundays are our "rest and recharge" day. We start with church—our faith is very important to us—and then relax at home and maybe watch football together.
We have two adorable pups, Bella and Rusty (a golden retriever and a golden doodle)! They are great with kids and love snuggling and joining us on our adventures! We love to travel and look for any chance to escape and explore! We usually take one international trip every summer and a couple of fun escapes to the beach or a new place. And we take advantage of long weekends to sneak in a trip to Kim's family's mountain place, especially in the winter.
We love making memories, whether it's daily routines or spontaneous adventures!
Adoption in Our Family
Adoption is a key part of our story, as both of our families have a special connection to adoption.
Three of Kim's cousins were adopted. Seeing the love and joy adoption brought to our family opened our hearts to new cultures (all were intercultural adoptions) and showed us that love transcends blood. Two of her cousins had an open adoption and had a relationship with their birth parents. The birth family was Italian and Kim remembers learning about their culture and traditions and incorporating them into their family traditions. Her other cousin had a closed adoption, but Kim's family has integrated many traditions to celebrate her cousin's Hispanic heritage.
Ethan's mom was also adopted as a baby and this was something she talked about openly. She passed in 2020, but she and Ethan were extremely close and she was very influential in his life. Her life and connection to adoption made a deep impact on Ethan and our family.
We chose adoption because we've witnessed in our own families the beautiful bonds adoption can create. If given the honor of becoming adoptive parents for your child, we will love your child unconditionally and will always honor you and your story, as well as your child's story and heritage.

Our House and Neighborhood

We're lucky to call New Mexico home, surrounded by stunning nature and the opportunity to enjoy all four seasons. The mild weather allows us to hike in the mountains, ski in the winter, and bike scenic trails year-round. We're also just a few hours from lakes for boating and water skiing.
New Mexico offers incredible outdoor adventures like camping and exploring national parks. In fact, we have been to 24 of the 65 national parks (15 of which are in our state!).
New Mexico also hosts the world's largest hot air balloon festival where you are surrounded by hundreds of colorful balloons against a golden fall backdrop. We go every October... it truly is magical!
The state's rich cultural heritage adds to its charm, with Native American and Hispanic influences blending into unique traditions, including the legendary green chili that we put on nearly everything! The food scene is a local favorite, with dishes like enchiladas and tamales.
We live in the house Kim's parents bought when she was in high school. It is so special for us to raise our kids here. We have remodeled it together and made it our own – and it is a bright, spacious and cozy place to call home. We even have a pool and a big playhouse in the back yard!
We love spending time with our neighbors (our best friends live next door with their children). It's a tight-knit, welcoming community.
Our Extended Families

Our families are at the heart of our lives. Kim's parents, married for almost 50 years, live nearby and are always dropping in to help with Harper or join family dinners. They love hosting game nights with Kim's two younger brothers and their families (between the two of them, they have 7 little ones!), who also live nearby. It is always a fun atmosphere, and the cousins never tire of playing and riding bikes together.

Family vacations to Kim's parents' cabin in Colorado are a tradition, whether we are skiing in the winter or enjoying the outdoors in the summer.
Ethan's family is just as close-knit. Ethan's dad and stepmom live nearby, and we get together often for dinners, hikes, and bike rides. Ethan's older brother lives in Denver with his wife and two kids, but we visit regularly, and enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and biking when we are together. One of Ethan's family traditions is their annual reunion near Cape Cod, Massachusetts each summer to soak up the sun and make memories together! Ethan's mom passed away in 2020, but they were very close and she will always have a place in our hearts.
From Us to You

Hello. First, we want to express our deepest admiration for your strength and courage in considering adoption. The decision you're making is incredibly brave, and we are so grateful that you're taking the time to read our profile and get to know a little about us. It's impossible to fully understand the emotions and challenges you are facing, but please know that our hearts are open, and we respect the love and care you are putting into your decision.
We are Kim and Ethan, and we've known each other for more than 20 years. We became best friends 10 years ago, and soon after, our connection grew into something deeper and more profound. We married in December 2023 in the beautiful setting of Key Largo, FL, and have spent the last six years building a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, we are proud parents to our five-year-old daughter, Harper.
After many years of struggling with infertility, we have learned that we are unable to have another child. While we have gone through the emotional and physical challenges of fertility treatments, we know in our hearts that our family is not complete yet, and we have so much love to share. We believe that adoption is the path we are meant to take. Our families both have a deep connection to adoption ?"three of Kim's cousins were adopted and Ethan's mom was adopted?"and we know our journey has led us here.
Our faith is a guiding light in our lives, and we trust that God has a plan for us as we continue on this path to growing our family. We are eager to welcome another child into our home with open arms and hearts. We want to provide a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment where your child will be encouraged to grow, explore, and dream. Ethan works in home remodeling and Kim has been a pediatric nurse for 16 years. As a family, we are close-knit, active, and adventurous. We love spending time together outdoors, whether it's hiking, going on family trips, or simply enjoying the little moments. Family is at the heart of everything we do, and we are excited about the possibility of expanding our family further. We would be honored to be a part of your child's journey.
If you choose us as adoptive parents, we promise to love your child unconditionally. We will always be there to support them through life's ups and downs, catching them when they fall, and celebrating every success. We promise to share their story with them from the very beginning, honoring the love and sacrifice you've made for them. We will raise them with the knowledge of the incredible strength and love you've shown, and we will respect and cherish the bond they share with you. We believe that having a strong sense of identity and knowing where they come from will help your child feel empowered and loved, and we will always hold a special place for you in our hearts.
We understand the importance of staying connected, and we are committed to sending regular updates, pictures, and letters as your child grows. We are also open to phone calls and visits if that is something you desire. We want to keep you part of their life in a way that feels comfortable and right for you.
Above all, we want your child to know that their dreams are important to us. We promise to do everything within our power to help them achieve whatever they set their heart on, whether that's pursuing their passions, excelling in school, or becoming the person they are meant to be.
We feel incredibly blessed to be parents to our daughter, and we know that the love we share as a family is something we are ready to expand and give to another child. We hope this letter gives you a glimpse of who we are, and we would be honored to meet you and discuss the possibility of our families joining together. No matter what, we wish you peace, strength, and guidance as you navigate this incredible journey.
With all our love and gratitude,
Ethan & Kim
